Nature and Purpose
The Innovation and Development Foundation (Fundación Innovación y Desarrollo, FIDBAN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting business projects with private equity investors, including business angels and investment clubs, through a structured model of analysis, evaluation, and presentation.
Its purpose is to facilitate access to financing for initiatives with growth potential by creating formal platforms where entrepreneurs and investors can interact based on technical and economic viability criteria.
Based in Santander (Cantabria, Spain), FIDBAN operates in the field of private investment and the structuring of international financing networks.
Governing Board and Institutional Framework
FIDBAN operates within the institutional framework of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), which is part of its board of trustees along with the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (UNEATLANTICO) and other collaborating entities from the public and private sectors.
This structure places the foundation within an institutional framework linked to academic cooperation and international development.
International Structure
FIDBAN operates through an international network of investors organized into chapters across more than 30 countries in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Each chapter serves as a regional hub responsible for:
- Identifying entrepreneurial projects.
- Channeling their feedback within the network.
- Facilitating their presentation to local and international investors.
The ties to the institutional network promoted by FUNIBER, which has a presence in numerous countries through partner universities and centers, reinforce this international reach and expand the channels for identifying and connecting academic and business ecosystems.
Operating Model
FIDBAN's operational model is structured around three main areas:
- International Investment Forums: events where pre-screened projects are presented to networks of private investors and business angels.
- Digital Analysis Platform: a tool designed to assess the feasibility, business model, and growth potential of the proposed initiatives.
- Specialized Support: assistance in preparing investment proposals, with the participation of advisory bodies and partners linked to the network.

Partnership with UNIB
